Across the Canadian Arctic landscape Inukshuks described as stone likeness of the human figure are built by the  Inuit, Iñupiat, Kalaallit, Yupik, and other peoples of the Arctic region of North America.  Their memorable form can be landmarks, memorials, kayak stands, meat platforms, pillars supporting drying lines, or elements of caribou fences.
